{"id":272174,"date":"2023-06-30T15:53:28","date_gmt":"2023-06-30T19:53:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=272174"},"modified":"2023-06-30T15:53:28","modified_gmt":"2023-06-30T19:53:28","slug":"cuban-athletes-wont-have-to-repatriate-to-compete-in-national-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/sports\/cuban-athletes-wont-have-to-repatriate-to-compete-in-national-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Cuban athletes won\u2019t have to repatriate to compete in national events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/InderCuba\/status\/1674407537360207872\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">announced <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this Thursday on its social networks that Cuban athletes residing abroad and without ties to the national sports movement will not have to repatriate to compete in events that take place on the island nor to represent the country in international events.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOnce the necessary steps have been completed, we inform that repatriation is no longer a requirement for Cubans residing abroad to participate in national events organized by INDER,\u201d the governing body for sports in Cuba specified through its Twitter account.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"es\" dir=\"ltr\">Concretados los pasos necesarios, informamos que la repatriaci\u00f3n deja de ser una exigencia para que cubanos residentes en el exterior intervengan en los eventos nacionales organizados por <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/InderCuba?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#InderCuba<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/iLdvvtGpTn\">pic.twitter.com\/iLdvvtGpTn<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; INDER (@InderCuba) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/InderCuba\/status\/1674407537360207872?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 29, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Jit digital site, INDER\u2019s official portal, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jit.cu\/NewsDetails.aspx?idnoticia=647753\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">specified<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that \u201cthe measure is part of the efforts to use of all the talent formed by the revolutionary sport, both to shine in the domestic competitions and the teams of the four glorious letters.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The publication itself acknowledges that the biggest debates on this issue have arisen in baseball, although the decision will also \u201cimpact other sports and disciplines.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the same way, they explained that now \u201cit will be up to the different national commissions to update the regulations of their competitions so that this decision takes effect immediately.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019m not going to repatriate to play with Industriales.
