Naci\u00f3n y Emigraci\u00f3n (@NacionyEmig) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NacionyEmig\/status\/1726373772557488359?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 19, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Regarding the Conference, he commented that with its holding \u201ca historical duty\u201d was fulfilled, particularly with those who began these meetings at the end of the 1970s, and assured that the event served to take stock of the progress made since then and to identify topics that need to be continued working on.<\/p>\n<p>In this sense, he estimated that the event, in which 364 Cubans residing abroad from 57 countries ultimately participated, should be \u201ca new starting point towards higher and, consequently, more challenging goals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>D\u00edaz-Canel described the Conference as \u201ca Cuban exercise, between Cubans and for Cubans,\u201d in which, in his opinion, there was \u201ca debate rich in ideas and nuances\u201d and in which \u201cwe have all learned.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In his words, he described the United States embargo\/blockade as \u201cthe greatest obstacle\u201d to ties between Cuba and its nationals abroad and affirmed that there was consensus among the participants in the Conference on this matter.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, he lashed out at those who \u201ctry to break our natural and growing bond with our emigrants through generously financed campaigns of discredit and defamation\u201d from the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, he opined that \u201cCuba\u2019s relations with its nationals abroad are going through one of their best moments.\u201d He pointed out that the event that ended this Sunday in the Cuban capital should chart the path for \u201cgreater participation\u201d of emigrants in the life of the country, particularly in socioeconomic development, at a time when the island is suffering a severe crisis and a strong wave of migration.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"sQnYdqRFnt\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/nation-and-migration\/4th-the-nation-and-emigration-conference-a-space-to-debate-where-we-want-to-continue-moving-forward\/\">4th The Nation and Emigration Conference, \u201ca space to debate where we want to continue moving forward\u201d<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute;
