Between September 25 and October 3, La Colmenita will return to the United States stages more than a decade after the last tour in that country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The prestigious children\u2019s theater company will perform in the cities of Tampa (Florida), New York and Washington DC with the story of <\/span>Cenicienta seg\u00fan los Beatles<\/span><\/i> (Cinderella according to the Beatles), Prensa Latina (PL) news agency <\/span>pointed out<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on the story by the Frenchman Charles Perrault, this work was adapted by Carlos Alberto Cremata, director of the group, \u201cin a fun plot in which the songs of the famous British group are inserted as a key element,\u201d PL added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The media outlet recalled its first tour eight years earlier, in March 2003, when they visited several cities in California.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company, according to Cremata, arose from a television program that he and his mother made, titled <\/span>Cuando yo sea grande<\/span><\/i> (When I Grow Up), in which \u201cchildren wanted to be pilots, photographers,\u201d <\/span>he told<\/b><\/a>\u00a0Prensa Latina at another time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Its first theater work was <\/span>Me\u00f1ique<\/span><\/i>, and it was performed before 5,000 people at the Karl Marx Theater in 1994.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group was founded on February 14, 1990. It is considered a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Children\u2019s Fund (UNICEF).<\/span><\/p>\n

Figures such as Michelle Obama, the former first lady of the United States, the so-called \u201claughter doctor\u201d Patch Adams, singers Harry Belafonte, Katy Perry, and Beyonc\u00e9, actors Sean Penn and Danny Glover, and Spanish soccer star Sergio Ramos, have visited the company\u2019s headquarters, located on Calle 13, corner Avenida de los Presidentes, in El Vedado.<\/span><\/p>\n

In April 2023, <\/span>Ana de Armas<\/b><\/a> and her boyfriend, businessman Paul Boukadakis, <\/span>were welcomed<\/b><\/a> by the group members. The boys and girls, as well as Cremata, showed them the group\u2019s facilities and explained their history of training generations of Cuban and other countries\u2019 children.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
