So they can enjoy their summer vacations in 2025, the Russian city of St. Petersburg will receive Cuban children with the best academic results.<\/span><\/p>\n

The news was announced by the governor of that city, Alexander Beglov, during a work meeting, in which he ordered the education committee to organize the \u201cnecessary preparations\u201d for the date, <\/span>according to<\/b><\/a> a media outlet in that country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The official assured that Cuba \u201ccontinues to carefully preserve the memory of the events that unite it with Russia,\u201d after pointing out that the culture of that country, as well as its language and values, are respected on the island.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Russian community in Cuba, made up of 3,000 people, maintains ties with its homeland. We met with their representatives at the Church of the Icon of the Kazan Mother of God in Havana. This cathedral was founded on the initiative of the legendary Fidel Castro, who greatly loved our city,\u201d said Beglov.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently, the governor <\/span>said<\/b><\/a>\u00a0that St. Petersburg and Cuba \u201cwill increase the volume of business,\u201d in addition to supporting enterprises and expanding cultural projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

The invitation extended to the children comes less than a month after Belglov <\/span>was received by Cuban President Miguel D\u00edaz-Canel<\/b><\/a> during a visit on the occasion of \u201ca cultural exchange initiative that promotes ties between both countries.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI also thanked Beglov for his efforts to strengthen the twinning of St. Petersburg with the cities of Havana and Santiago de Cuba,\u201d D\u00edaz-Canel wrote on his social media.<\/span><\/p>\n

Belglov participated in \u201cThe Days of St. Petersburg in Cuba,\u201d a cultural exchange initiative that promotes ties between both countries, according to a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX).<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, Beglov was accompanied by the Russian ambassador to Cuba, Victor V. Koronelli, and the chairman of the St. Petersburg Foreign Relations Committee, Evgeny Dmitrievich Grigoriev.<\/span><\/p>\n
