The year 2025 has started at full speed; its first week is almost over. However, the experiences of the year that ended are still fresh in our memory; its most relevant events. The images that marked the course of the last 12 months remained in our retinas and personal archives.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every Sunday in 2024 \u2014 or almost every Sunday, to be precise \u2014 we try to show from this space images of Cuba, its daily life, its places. And, in particular, of <\/span>Havana<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cuban capital, with its neighborhoods and its people, was the main protagonist of a section that has already been going on for several years and that we hope to maintain in 2025. This is thanks to the perseverance and keen eye of our photojournalist Otmaro Rodr\u00edguez.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the year that has passed, <\/span>Enfoco<\/span><\/i> approached avenues such as <\/span>Carlos III<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Santa Catalina<\/b><\/a>; to little-mentioned neighborhoods such as <\/span>San Mart\u00edn<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Platanito<\/b><\/a>, and other much better-known ones such as <\/span>Vedado<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>La Timba<\/b><\/a>; beaches such as <\/span>Bacuranao<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Guanabo<\/b><\/a>; and to <\/span>palaces, castles and museums<\/b><\/a> in Old Havana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through Otmaro\u2019s lens, we visited iconic places such as <\/span>La Virgen del Camino<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Esquina de Toyo<\/b><\/a>; we retraced the <\/span>Bejucal<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Luyan\u00f3<\/b><\/a> roads; we went to <\/span>Cotorro<\/b><\/a> and the <\/span>Camilo Cienfuegos neighborhood<\/b><\/a>, in East Havana; and we returned to the central <\/span>Plazuela de Albear<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, with the photographic guide of our correspondent, we observed <\/span>old cannons<\/b><\/a> in Havana, we discovered curious <\/span>iron gates<\/b><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>knockers<\/b><\/a> in the city; we learned about meetings of Havana <\/span>entrepreneurs<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>otakus<\/b><\/a>; and we witnessed <\/span>cultural events<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

To start 2025 we want to revive that memory. To remember what we experienced \u2014 photographically \u2014 in the year that just ended not only as a compendium of what was shown but also as a boost for the year that begins.<\/span><\/p>\n
