
{"id":327848,"date":"2025-09-02T06:43:44","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T10:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/?p=327848"},"modified":"2025-09-02T06:44:29","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T10:44:29","slug":"from-havana-to-guanabo-beach-by-train","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/cuba\/from-havana-to-guanabo-beach-by-train\/","title":{"rendered":"From Havana to Guanabo Beach by train"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As was the case <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/flashazo-hasta-la-playa-en-tren\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>last year<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, this summer Havana residents once again had access to the train between the city and the popular beaches east of the capital and Guanabo in particular.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reactivated by authorities for the summer season, the \u201cbeach\u201d train began operating in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/cuba\/hasta-guanabo-en-tren-opcion-mas-economica-hacia-la-playas-del-este\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>early July<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is scheduled to end its operations this Sunday, just before the start of the new school year. As in 2024, its starting point \u2014 and destination on return trips \u2014 was the Egido and Arsenal Cargo Yard, in Havana\u2019s historic center, with several stops along the way.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1140px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Tren-Habana-Guanabo_Otma_1.jpg\" alt=\"Departure of the train to Guanabo Beach, in East Havana. Photo: Otmaro Rodr\u00edguez.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With scheduled departures from Tuesday to Sunday, the train once again ran the route to Guanabo in the morning and returned to Havana in the evening, although it did not always adhere to the schedule and sometimes ran beyond the established official hour and a half.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Along the way, it resumed its usual stops at intermediate points such as Arenal, Guanabacoa, the Jewish Cemetery and Berroa, as well as at busy beaches, including Bacuranao, Tarar\u00e1 and, finally, Guanabo: the main destination for travelers and the return point after an intense day of sun and beach.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1140px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Tren-Habana-Guanabo_Otma7.jpg\" alt=\"Intermediate stop of the train to Guanabo Beach, in East Havana.
