Simple: Benito Antonio Mart\u00ednez Ocasio, also known as Bad Bunny.\u00a0\u201cIf\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0here today at\u00a0the\u00a0Super Bowl 60,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0because I never, ever stopped believing in myself. If so, then he must have missed the performance of his admirers Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Brantley\u00a0Gilbert\u00a0and Gabby Barrett at the alternative show organized by the conservative organization The Turning Point USA.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Incidentally, this show had just over\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7031946\/2026\/02\/08\/turning-point-usa-halftime-show-pete-hegseth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">six\u00a0million\u00a0viewers.<\/span><\/b><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0Meanwhile, Bad Bunny had a Super Bowl audience of 135.4 million viewers, surpassing the\u00a0previous\u00a0record held by Kendrick Lamar (133.5 million in 2025). The entire performance was a tribute to Latino\u00a0roots, to the adversities of our people and to the need to unite in these turbulent times. From the nail salon, the coconut stand, the blackout, the unprecedented\u00a0\u2014\u00a0but real\u00a0\u2014\u00a0wedding of two strangers or the Grammy award given to a child (perhaps a reminder of who he once was) watching the ceremony on an old television with his family, everything fit together in a\u00a0big\u00a0party of just over 13 minutes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The reggaeton was infectious, the music boomed and\u00a0set\u00a0the rhythm, but Benito\u00a0definitely didn\u2019t\u00a0intend to use the stage only to promote his work.
