The\u00a0Cuban\u00a0worst\u00a0performance in\u00a0the history\u00a0of women\u2019s world\u00a0volleyball\u00a0championships\u00a0has been materialized:\u00a0in\u00a0the event taking place on\u00a0Italian soil, the Caribbean girls\u00a0were eliminated in the first round and could only win one\u00a0set in\u00a0five matches;\u00a0they\u00a0did not accumulate\u00a0points\u00a0and finished\u00a0last\u00a0in Group\u00a0D,\u00a0and 22nd\u00a0in\u00a0the tournament.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0outcome\u00a0did not surprise anyone, only a few\u00a0blind\u00a0or infinitely\u00a0gullible people expected the unexpected.\u00a0But\u00a0not\u00a0because of that,\u00a0the\u00a0World Cup adventure\u00a0of\u00a0Juan Carlos\u00a0Gala\u2019s pupils\u00a0is less\u00a0disappointing.<\/p>\n

After\u00a0the results achieved\u00a0in our geographic\u00a0area, some\u00a0bet for\u00a0decent\u00a0losses to\u00a0rivals\u00a0of\u00a0much\u00a0higher level,\u00a0but the reality\u00a0showed no mercy with\u00a0the Cuban\u00a0squad\u00a0which was\u00a0buried\u00a0alive\u00a0over and over again.<\/p>\n

Cuba\u00a0\u2019s four\u00a0first\u00a0games\u00a0showed the same result, quick 0-3 defeats against Belgium,\u00a0Puerto Rico, Japan and\u00a0China\u00a0. But in\u00a0the fifth match\u00a0the girls\u00a0managed\u00a0to win the\u00a0second\u00a0set\u00a0(27-25)\u00a0over\u00a0Azerbaijan,\u00a0but\u00a0that did not change\u00a0the finalscore.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the Italian\u00a0city of\u00a0Bari\u00a0,\u00a0the largest audience\u00a0to see the\u00a0Cuban\u00a0team\u00a0never exceeded\u00a0800 people\u00a0at the\u00a0Palaflorio Arena.
