The Distributor of Cuban Medical Services Company (SMC by its Spanish acronym) gave an updated account of its operations during the past year during FIHAV 2014 event where it is participating for the fourth consecutive year.<\/p>\n
The seven lines of business that give prestige to the company responsible for the promotion of health services in Cuba in the world were exposed by Dr. Exposito Lliliam Jimenez, president of the organization.<\/p>\n
The doctor explained that the business portfolio is based on sustained success for decades of the Cuban health system as a result of principles and values of humanity, solidarity and a fundamental concern for having the highest ethical and scientific standards for workers, who constitute the fundamental bulwark of Cuban medicine.<\/p>\n
While SMC now has seven lines of business for development from the foreign investment, healthcare services are one of the priorities, for which it has 47 institutions of the national health system and eight international clinics, among others.<\/p>\n
“Today our services are requested by about 35 agencies from 101 countries, among which stand out Canada, Russia, China, Japan, Angola and Costa Rica. This year we have received more than 100,000 requests of treatment in Cuba, and we can see an increase from an unmet need worldwide as a result of privatization and high prices of care, “she said.<\/p>\n
“In conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health, the company implements programs for the purpose of developing a strategy directed at marketing, including hemodialysis, treatment with stem cells and its positive results in addressing some diseases is included, comprehensive care for diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and programs to review the patient with addictions. ” the doctor told reporters, officials of the Ministry of Public Health, entrepreneurs and the audience gathered at the theater located in the fairgrounds.<\/p>\n
The company also intends to expand the business line corresponding to the academic and educational services within the health profile. “The training of professionals in medical science has benefited students from 121 Latin America and Africa countries in solidarity,” she said.<\/p>\n
“Medical services in borders give us clear opportunities to create joint ventures with foreign capital,” Jimenez Exposito said. Moreover, there are services offerings associated with optical, pharmaceutical, natural health and traditional medicine today is enhanced by the combination of results from companies belonging to Cimex and SMC.<\/p>\n
She also highlighted the services of scientific events that the country can offer, which allow the exchange with foreign and prestigious institutions.<\/p>\n
