Paris Hilton, in Cuba since yesterday, is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the hotel chain bearing his name. Conrad was in Cuba in March 1958 at the opening of the Havana Hilton (now Habana Libre) where the American celebrity is presumably hosted as vacationer.<\/p>\n
After the Revolution took power and began the nationalization of foreign property in Cuba, the Havana Hilton Hotel was renamed Hotel Habana Libre and nationalized in 1960<\/p>\n
But not only Paris is visiting Cuba. More celebrities come to Havana these days. Supermodel Naomi Campbell was shot on Wednesday at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba by the news channel NBC News. Indian actor Kabir Bedi, most representative of the legendary character Sandokan and a star of Bollywood in recent years with more than 60 films, is also in Cuba to attend the seventeenth edition of the popular Festival del Habano, which ended yesterday in the capital.<\/p>\n
Kabir Bedi told Prensa Latina that “When I was invited to the event, I saw immediately the opportunity to know Cuba; I want to learn about the culture of this country, its traditions, cinema, get closer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Others that have chosen Cuba as destination these days belong to the Hall of Fame of rock and roll. The legendary band The Dead Daisies delivered a concert in Havana.
