{"id":43618,"date":"2015-03-13T14:52:34","date_gmt":"2015-03-13T18:52:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oncubamagazine.com\/?p=43618"},"modified":"2015-03-15T14:55:48","modified_gmt":"2015-03-15T18:55:48","slug":"two-cuban-nominated-to-the-latin-song-hall-of-fame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oncubanews.com\/en\/culture\/two-cuban-nominated-to-the-latin-song-hall-of-fame\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Cuban nominated to the Latin Song Hall of Fame"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The musician and composer Leo Brouwer, considered by many as the greatest living Cuban artista, and songwriter Pablo Milanes, one of the founders of the Nueva Trova movement, are nominated to enter the Latin Song Hall of Fame, along with other musical legends on the continent.<\/p>\n<p>The authors of <em>Elogio de la danza<\/em> and <em>Yolanda<\/em>, among other worldwide hits , aspire to this recognition in the category of composers, the first one, and songwriter , the second.<\/p>\n<p>The composers category also includes Brazilian Erasmo Carlos (<em>\u00c9 Proibido Fumar<\/em>), Chilean Alberto Plaza (<em>Voy a cambiar el mundo<\/em>), and Colombian H\u00e9ctor Ochoa (<em>El camino de la vida<\/em>), among\u00a0 others; while Milanes is accompanied by Panamanian Rub\u00e9n Blades, Mexican Juan Gabriel, Brazilian Roberto Carlos and Spanish Camilo Sesto.<\/p>\n<p>This list also incluyes Mexican Joan Sebastian, Argentine Diego Torres, Brazilian Caetano Veloso, Puerto Rican Ednita Nazario, El Salvadoran \u00c1lvaro Torres, Chilean Myriam Hern\u00e1ndez and Venezuelan Franco de Vita.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2012 by composers and producer Desmond Child and Rudy Perez, Latin Song Hall of Fame honors the most outstanding composers in the international arena and their music in all genres.<\/p>\n<p>According to organizers, until midnight on March 15 the public can vote for their favorite composers on the website of the contest (www.latinsonghall.com).
