I believe photography is a profession in which it is best to apologize before asking for permission. I \u201cshoot\u201d persons through the lens of the camera to then, resigned, get an uncomfortable look or the grateful smile of persons who know they have been \u201cimmortalized\u201d. This is my hobby: I collect moments.<\/p>\n<p>Although it might seem a clich\u00e9, I live as if the camera were an extension of my hand. While some are scared of monsters or the dark, I am tormented in dreams with not having a camera to take a picture if a UFO falls\u2026or the Air Force One flies by.<\/p>\n<p>I have proven myself in several fronts: I started as a traveling photographer, I trained to be an editor in the photography department of the Latin American Prensa Latina News Agency and I sold what I had to buy my first semiprofessional camera. Now I\u2019m a photo reporter of the daily <em>Granma<\/em> and a regular collaborator of other publications.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not scared of the term stringer and, although I am more associated to the cultural world, I don\u2019t set limits for myself. I especially like to photograph everyday things.<\/p>\n<p>My idol: Robert Capa, though I wouldn\u2019t mind imitating Annie Leibovitz.<\/p>\n<p>My dream: Founding my own photography agency.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There\u2019s nothing as agreeable as going out with camera in hand catching moments and discovering details, characters and unique occasions in familiar or unknown streets.
