When a new year begins, the time is right to start new projects and explore new paths. This year different Cuban musicians are working in musical productions and not all of them will keep the line of work that has characterized them.

Before the end of 2014, the Cuban singer Omara Portuondo made known her phonogram ¨Magia Negra¨ (Black Magic), a version of the first album published by the Diva of the Buena Vista Social Club when she was part of the quartet Las D’Aida in 1958.

Under the production of Juan Cerito, the CD involves young musicians with outstanding career such as Roly Luna, the bassist Gaston Joya, Rodney Barreto on drums and percussionist Andrés Coayo.

As obvious corollary of her versatility, the girlfriend of ¨filin¨ plays a range of genres of Cuban music, including bolero, son, passing through jazz and masterfully performing the hit That Old Black Magic by Duke Ellington.

Meanwhile, the only Cuban Latin Grammy winner in the category of Best Song along with the members of Gente de Zona, Cuban Descemer Bueno, announced that he is working on two albums, one for the Latin world in the United States and another one for the fans of the romantic variant.

In these productions Bueno proposes another duet with Enrique Iglesias: Camarera (Waitress); also a song with Carlos Varela called 0-0; and another one with the leading singer of Buena Fe: Israel Rojas.

He also has programmed other collaborations with other foreign artists and that is the case of Mexicans Belinda and Reyli as well as a track with the Colombian Juanes. In addition he also intends filming in Cuba this year the video clip of Pastillas para dormir (Sleeping pills) with the Spanish band Estopa.

Also the trova lovers will be delighted with the next album of singer Frank Delgado, who told OnCuba that this month he will premiere on national radio the track Balada de Casanova, Cecilia Valdés and La Bella Durmiente, along with Buena Fe and Cuban actress Laura de la Uz.

Delgado also announced that his next phonogram, presumably under the title SOS, will be released during the Cubadisco 2015 festival.

The renowned singer Lyn Milanes said she is immersed in the final details of an album tribute to Sindo Garay, author of the popular hit Perla marina. Twenty tracks are included in this work, the second of her solo career, which is produced by David Alvarez, director of Juego de Manos orchestra.

Likewise Tony Avila explained that he will start working in a recording material, which will not be far from what he has been doing although it will include other rhythms.

Coinciding with his successful Timbiriche, this phonogram will also be an independent production with which he will delight his fans with a version of his authorship of ¨Negra¨ (Black woman), which he will sing in duet with Omara Portuondo.
