The legendary band Sintesis turned 36 years and they are going to celebrate it with style through a concert at the Mella Theater in Havana next December 6th.
Its director Carlos Alfonso told OnCuba the show will also be the ideal opportunity to put an end to the tour they have made throughout different Cuban provinces.
Alfonso added the celebration is also a kind of tribute to the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, which holds its 34 edition from December 4 to 14.
In the presentation, Sintesis will make a musical tour throughout its recording history while playing several of his best-known songs, especially the trilogy "Ancestors", an album that earned a Latin Grammy nomination, said Alfonso, also a bassist, arranger and singer.
The band has a special place in Cuban musical scenery, since its inception in 1976 they have worked successfully merging African-rooted rhythms with rock and jazz, creating a unique style that captures the attention of audiences and critics, both domestic and foreign.
Excellent and outstanding musicians like José María Vitier, Amaury Pérez, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Ernan Lopez-Nussa and Pablo Menendez, among others have been members of Sintesis in its more than three decades of work.
Many experts consider them as the best Cuban fusion music band ever, as it has a style that distinguishes them and allows its followers to relate to the Afro-Cuban musical heritage from contemporaneity.
Sintesis´ discography includes 13 albums, with a unique and unmistakable rhythm and style, a seal of its peculiar way of playing.
