The XVII Habano Festival will take place from February 23 through the 27 and will honor the prestigious brands Montecristo and Romeo and Juliet.

As every year the most prestigious international event dedicated to the Premium Cigars brings together the best cigar lovers of the world: The Habano. In the last edition of the event over 1300 participants from over 60 countries attended this prestigious annual event with 250 journalists and photographers from 142 media outlets from over 30 countries, who gave wide coverage to the festival that continues to increase year after year its international impact. In 2014 the fair received over 2,200 visitors and was attended by 60 exhibitors from 7 countries, confirming the great acceptance and success of it, being an ideal event for technical and commercial exchanges between businessmen, producers and suppliers in the world of cigars.

This time the partcipants, including international personalities, will have the pleasure of tasting some exclusive new Habanos bands that will be launched this 2015, and may discover or re-discover the roots and secrets of tobacco culture in Cuba, centuries-old tradition of the island.

With the opening of the Trade Fair at the Convention Palace the event will begin on Monday. This first day of Festival will culminate with the Welcome Night at the Wood and Tobacco Warehouse, located in the port area of Havana, where those attending will have the privilege of witnessing the release of Romeo and Juliet Gran Reserva Cosecha 2009, and exclusive performances by Cuban artists of national and international prestige. During that night the Nominations Habano of the Year Award in different categories will be announced.

A smoked lobster with leaves of tobacco is the great gastronomic novelty of this dinner as revealed by the author of the exclusive recipe, Belgian chef Anne Marie Lauwers, who is in charge of the menu.

These days will also host the International Seminar and will again in 2015 have interesting lectures on various topics related to the world of Habano, including partnerships and pairings of Habanos with drinks and excellent gastronomy, such as the prestigious Italian Chianti wines; lectures, competitions on manufacture of cigars and the second competition for the longest ash, among other topics of interest for hardcore Habano aficionados.
