Our Sunday # selfie… cute afternoon! # Marcelyyo “says one of the images, while the other one where the large, expressive little eyes feel closer, has as caption:” The # selfie by Marcel! # Marcel and me. ”

Both photos are all over the network this week, just days before the baby’s mother comes to sing to Cuba, the island where she was born 29 years ago and where she is known, especially among the young troubadours-for her talent, beauty and songs like Amargo pero dulce and Luna de vino tinto, widely publicized in the media in the country.

After a long time without presenting on Thursday, June 19, at 10:00 pm, at the Cultural Center Bertolt Brecht, Diana Fuentes will present her Planeta planetario, her latest album, released by the Sony Music Latin label. The same was produced by her husband Eduardo Cabra, best known as Visitante of Calle 13.

In an interview published in Suena Cubano earlier this year, she said: “For me it was a beautiful experience to share the work with my partner but I will not deny that I was surprised at the ability Eduardo has to separate the house and work. In the studio he was not my husband, but my producer, and demanded me as anyone else. It is as if he turned into another person that has nothing to do with the one sleeping with me. ”

Diana may be, along the duo Buena Fe, the more extroverted singer – digitally speaking- of the island. She has a website, a Twitter profile is @ _dianafuentes and through her Facebook page, which has about 20 thousand followers, we learned of the impact of a selfie that on a Sunday afternoon she took with her first child.

It is not common that people who consume audiovisual, digital or print media in Cuba they learn the details of the personal lives of prominent figures of culture, sports and national politics. On the island there are no paparazzi and we can remember when Jorge Martinez got sick or during Luisa María Jiménez stroke fans of those artists learned the news by what some ICRT workers published in social networks or their emails.

Regarding Diana Fuentes and other young figures, people almost always wants to know and so here we leave her story and Vistante´s in 2013, the year dedicated to the little Marcel their disc.

“It was a thoroughly entertaining time for both,” the singer told EFE on the recording process of this album that contains 12 songs as diverse as that fuse Afro-Cuban rhythms sounds, pop, Jamaican dance, electronic music, hip hop, bolero, and other genres, and features collaborations with William Vivanco, Alexis Díaz-Pimienta and Carlos Varela, author of the song Sera Sol, the first single from the production.

– Why Planeta planetario, they asked her once.

She said: “I am sharing my life and my time on two islands. Two islands are very much alike, because people are alike, and I love being surrounded by water. (…) When I was in Puerto Rico, which is two hours and some from here, I had moments of thinking that I might not be there, and I asked myself what I do here, I want to go. And I created this ‘planetary planet’ that is made up of my music, all the people I love, the love I get from my husband and a million things that I invented, a whole world. That’s my ‘planetary planet.’ ”

Diana has lived in Puerto Rico for three years. She met her husband of 35 years, when in 2010 he traveled to Cuba to offer a free concert in front of over 70,000 people and they met again during a trip of hers with Varela, to Puerto Rico. In 2011 they were married in Cuba.

“At home we have little time off between work and baby. At home we only talk about music and I think Marcel already has it inside, for not knowing I was pregnant I was recording clips and his father was making the new album of Calle 13. We’re definitely more united and we are blessed to be parents.

“I think from a creative point of view you will also see changes in me from this experience, but for now I have time to compose, the priority is called Marcel, I am filled with beautiful things that my son gives me and then surely also cause to bring forth songs with all these emotions inside. But now I find it hard to leave him and return to my commitments with art, “Diana said.

Here we share the lyrics of Sera Sol, the first single.
