There is an old concern among composers of Cuban dance music: the dancer. Paulo FG knows it. So he has taken a sensitive edge of everyday life of the audience on the island and has resulted in “Abre que vengo” (Open that I am coming), his newest album, produced by the Egrem label and it was presented to the press on Thursday at Havana’s Delirio Habanero.

Aesthetic concepts advocated in musical trends as timba, find a space on this album by FG, which has a dozen songs it is his 13th disc. In this work also stand out other genres like bachata, merengue and techno-ballad, a style in which Paulo has delivered singles that have left a mark on the sound memory of the people who follow him.

Precisely, the song De Amores is a very impressive work, which we can enjoy twice. In the first one we appreciate a salsa song seasoned with international standards and where you can enjoy a delicious duet between Paulo and Nicaraguan Luis Enrique. In the second version FG uses the ballad to give us a more intimate view of love and discuss this sublime feeling, I must say that returns to this theme in Blame it on Cupid.

Already popular on radio and television, “El papi happy ” becomes one of the most contagious tracks proposed by the artist and where he bets on merengue , and returns to that genre with A la lokera , although in the latter he borders contours techno music. In this song Jacob Forever does the featuring.

They are also attractive the tracks Yo soy la timba, Dale play and La matadora. They mix the sonorities with the current style that Paulito has in his music .

Besides Abre que voy, the artist has a number of projects up his sleeve. Yesterday he announced that he will make an album of ballads and boleros, as the one he recorded in 2005 for Bis Music in 2005, titled Illusion. He is also “cooking” another CD , and though he only gave few details , surely he will travel the paths of timba and popular dance music .

And of course, soon he will release a DVD to mark the twentieth anniversary of Pablo FG y su Elite. The audiovisual material will be produced by the Egrem label and is in the final stage of production.

Produced by Paulo FG, and the direction of Manolo Ortega, the DVD contains the concert by the artist at the Karl Marx theater of September 1st, 2012. There he shows some notable hits in his repertoire as well as some new releases.

For now, Abre que voy carries the FG melodious cadency and his particular way of describing his environment. Undoubtedly, the disc is a result of a musical journey that Paulito began 25 years ago and has been implemented in the two decades leading his own band.
