According to Jit, a Cuban National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) publication, Cuban baseball players Yariel Rodríguez, Frank Abel Álvarez, Pedro Pablo Revilla and Guillermo García renewed their contracts with the Chunichi Dragons in Japanese professional baseball.

Camagüey’s right-handed pitcher Yariel Rodríguez signed a two-year contract, and the rest of the athletes did so for at least one more season.

Star Omar Linares also made his new contract official, in this case as coach of the franchise belonging to the so-called central league.

The president of the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB), Juan Reinaldo Pérez Pardo, accompanied the process and spoke with the athletes.

The official highlighted the importance of their contracts and the economic contribution they mean for the Cuban Baseball Federation, which receives a fee from the clubs for the training right, Jit added.

The Chunichi Dragons also has in its ranks star pitcher Raidel Martínez.
