Most Cuban sports fans cannot aford to travel around the world to attend the games of their national teams, and Cuban sports teams are therefore used to not having many supporters in the audience when they play in other countries.

But with a sizable community of Cuban émigrés in Canada, the Toronto Pan Am Games have been an exception. Many families have taken the opportunity to go to the stadiums with their children, and enjoy live the performance of their fellow countrymen. Baseball was the most popular, as was to be expected, so the Ajax Ballpark has been the most frequented by Cubans.
