The union between the popular PaZillo bar and the Albas del Mañana children’s daycare center, both located in Vedado, has brought benefits to both the center and the children.

According to Cubadebate, the bar has been cleaning the surrounding areas for some time, as well as maintaining the children’s daycare areas.

Thanks to the management of the bar, six bathrooms and the rooms have been repaired. “We are planning repairs in the kitchen, the infirmary and the lobby, in addition to painting, both inside and outside the daycare center,” Carmen Rosa Morejón, director of the center, told the media.

Through this union, the school garden was also reactivated, as well as “the little houses in the institution’s play area, which were deteriorated,” Morejón added about the collaboration that drives their work and allows them to have “better conditions.”

“We haven’t had the need to close due to any problems,” says the director of the institution, since they are in charge of blockages, pests, and the water supply through pipes. “It is not only limited to what needs to be repaired or built. The interaction with us is daily,” adds Rosa Morejón.

The bar also obtains direct benefits from the daycare center. It has a garden that they intend to expand in the future, where they will increase the variety of spices and planted herbs.

“The idea is to take advantage of the entire area. Here we have mint, chives and basil. We use it in the bar and also in the daycare center,” the owner of PaZillo Bar and project coordinator, Maikel Paz, explained to Cubadebate.

Asked about the reason for this union, Maikel states that “social responsibility must be a maxim for all organizations.” In his opinion, “we need to give a little of what we generate” because the country “is going through a difficult time and it is important to give what we can to the community.”

He says that at the beginning of the alliance, the daycare center was closed and had blockages and problems in the facilities. “We managed to collaborate with maintenance so that it opened. The idea is to continue and make it beautiful,” says Maikel.
