Since her first visit to Cuba in 2017, New York stylist Evan Elkowitz was bewitched by the work of Cuban designers.
With the aim of supporting and enhancing Cuban design, Evan Elkowitz works to make visible and put on the map the creations made with so many shortages and admirable creativity.
She has returned on several occasions and is already well-known in the sector because she has researched the creative and manufacturing processes of accessories, clothing and jewelry in Cuba.

Addicted to fashion, Evan is the creator of the Fashion Tour concept in Cuba and has a Style by Evan fashion website.
In addition, she collaborates with different magazines where she gives her opinion about cultural exchange and the different ways of making art in the United States and Cuba. Here she found Rosana Vargas, the silversmith behind the well-known brand ROX 950, who became her executive producer.
Her first fashion and art tour in Cuba took place in January 2019. As part of the tour, she invited several creators to participate in a fashion show and a photo shoot. On that occasion, the Dador brand was the protagonist.
Only a few days ago, the second of these meetings organized with Rosana took place, which included a sui generis show at the exclusive Hostal la Reserva, in the capital’s Vedado district.
It was a grand fashion show with creations by 14 Cuban designers and 25 of the best models in Havana. The Toques del Río group was in charge of the soundtrack.
About the selection, she said she was fortunate to have met amazing persons who help her show the world the beauty of Cuba and its fashion.
On this occasion, the Havana Fashion Tour showed the pieces of Joy Color, and works by Katy Ocaña (jewelry), Xenia Salomou (footwear), Rox 950, Jacqueline Fumero, Marié, Zulu’s handmade leather bags, clothing by Barbara’s Power, José Luis, Salome, Mayelin Guevara, Michel D’Zuarez, Textura bag, and Color Café.
Her goal is clear; she is moved by the aim of demonstrating how ingenious our designers are, whom she admires for having such a huge vision despite their restrictions with the outside world.
This initiative was born with the aim of showing the beauty of contemporary Cuban fashion, as a way of worshipping the good way of dressing that bears the signature of dissimilar Cuban creators. They set trends in the design of clothing and accessories, both in Cuba today as well as in various parts of the world where the so-called influencers are committed to their originality.
