Havana Club Cocktail Maestros is the most recent contest with which the marketing company of the most famous Cuban rum aims to “lay the foundations for a new era in the world of mixology” and reaffirm the island as a “matchless host of international cocktails.”

The United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, the Czech Republic, as well as Cuba, Brazil, and China, are among the countries that can participate in the competition, the company says.

According to a statement from the Cuban-French rum company, the event will have a first educational stage (Maestro Sessions) that includes the visions of prominent voices in the sector in various areas of cocktail service: liquid, flavor, vibe and expression.

After this previous step, participants will face a first challenge (Liquid Harmony) in which, inspired by the Maestro Sessions, they must prepare a customized cocktail containing a Havana Club rum and two home ingredients.

From that preparation, they will take an image of their creation, accompanied by a team photo. Registration for Cuban contestants will be open until January 25.

The selected candidates will advance to the national final, and ten finalist teams will be invited to the world final to be held from April 15 to 18, 2024, in Havana.

Among the prizes for the winning team is a tour of the “best Show Bars in Europe” in 2024, a coveted and “very rare” bottle of Havana Club Máximo Extra Añejo and the invitation to participate in the next edition of the contest.

The company Havana Club International S.A., which markets of the most important Cuban rum, celebrated three decades of its creation at the end of last November, successfully distributing what is considered one of the best light rums in the world.

Havana Club rum is the most representative product of this type in Cuba, with recent emphasis on very high-quality lines such as dark spirits.

The joint venture between Cuba Ron and the French marketing company Pernod Ricard, Havana Club International S.A., emerged in 1993. It exports to 130 countries, except for the United States, due to the embargo.
