Habano

The Habano is a leading product on the world market, with an exclusive flavor that comes from the nature of the soil where its tobacco is grown and from our island’s climate, along with the knowledge and experience of Cuba’s tobacco growers.

The Habano represents a designation of origin reserved for a selection of the most prominent brands of cigars, which are made following the strictest guidelines. Most are made totally by hand using Cuban methods that were first used in Havana almost two centuries ago.

Nowhere in the world is tobacco grown that is better than Cuba’s. But even here, only certain lands, known as vegas, are considered fit for growing the tobacco used to make a Habano. These are first-class vegas that are characterized by the exceptional quality of their soil, their microclimates, and the superior skills involved in the crop’s cultivation.

Like any high-quality product, Habanos are divided into different categories. The most important one is related to their strength, and there are five classifications: mild, mild to medium, medium, medium to strong, and strong.

Some people erroneously think that a Habano’s strength is related to its size. This is untrue, because it is the brand that is adjusted to a pattern of unique and distinctive strength. When one buys a Habano it is important to know about this, because it guides the buyer in choosing the potency of the Habano that he or she intends to smoke.

Each one of these brands has a set of different calibers (thin, medium and thick), which do not vary in strength.

When you a buy a Habano, this is an important fact to know. If you want to buy a box as a gift, you need to know whether the recipient is a beginning, occasional or knowledgeable smoker. The notion of strength, then, plays a fundamental role, because it allows the Habano to be better adjusted to the characteristics of its smoker.

The elegance and quality of any Habano brand makes it possible for it to be highly appreciated by anybody who understands refinement. Giving a gift of this category is always considered as a gourmet gesture.
