Yesterday was another day without deaths from COVID-19 in Cuba. Contagion cases dropped to 10, as in March, when the pandemic began on the island. The number of hospitalized also decreased and now is 913.
“It’s not that we have solved, there is a better result, there is a greater recovery of patients,” said Francisco Durán, national director of epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), at the morning briefing.
He said that among the newly infected there were more women than men (7 to 3) and that nine of them had contact with SARS-CoV-2 virus positive patients. He also highlighted that three of them are children.
60.0% of new infections were asymptomatic and the most affected age groups were those under 40 years of age, with six cases, and those over 60 years of age, with four.
