International agencies cataloged the beach segment near the Meliá Internacional Varadero Hotel as the best in Latin America, the Spanish chain announced.

The selection was coordinated by the International Center for Training in Beach Management and Certification (Cifplayas), based in Panama, and the Federal University of Rio Grande (Brazil).

The note, released this Friday in Havana, specifies that this ranking was made by 28 experts from various countries.

To prepare the list, managers and academicians considered a conceptual-methodological framework in which each beach was analyzed according to four dimensions: protection, conservation, recreation, and health.

Judging by these parameters, broken down into carefully evaluated indicators, the beach next to the Meliá Internacional Varadero Hotel scored 98 out of 100.

Its greatest value lies in aspects such as safety, scenic value, water and sand quality, coastline stability, and low episodic pollution.

The area was assessed as “spectacular” and “extensive,” with white sands and transparent blue waters, emblematic for their tourist use and high level of integrated management in the Cifplayas study, available on the website https://www.cifplayas.org.

Meliá Internacional Varadero is a 5-star All-Inclusive hotel preferred by those who travel to this beach resort on the Hicacos Peninsula with their family, partner, or friends.

Last year, the Meliá Internacional Varadero was one of the four hotels of the chain that received the Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best 2022 distinction, among the best in the Caribbean area. The recognition included it in the “Top 25” lists referring to different product categories.

Based in Palma de Mallorca, Meliá Hotels International has nearly 400 hotels open or in the process of opening in more than 40 countries under ten brands: Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts, ME by Meliá, The Meliá Collection, Paradisus by Meliá, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, ZEL, INNSiDE by Meliá, Falcon’s Resorts by Meliá, Sol by Meliá, and Affiliated by Meliá.
