Eight infections in Cuba today from COVID-19, no deaths

There are no patients in serious or critical condition. Yesterday, 10 people were discharged

“Another satisfactory day,” said Dr. Francisco Durán during the daily press conference of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), referring to the fact that there were no deaths in the last 24 hours, although the number of infections rose to eight.

They are Cubans, from Havana, six of whom are related to confirmed cases, and the source of infection in two of them was not specified.

“They are due to two outbreaks that affect San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque, and Cotorro, Havana,” the national director of epidemiology also said in reference to the increase in cases reported today.

There were equal numbers of men and women and six of them were asymptomatic.

As for the age group, two of them are minors; two belong to the range of 20 to 39, and four qualify between 40 and 59 years.

Yesterday, the country processed 2,210 tests for a total of 168,545 since the first cases of the SARS-CoV-2 virus were reported on the island; of these, 2,340 have been positive.

As of midnight yesterday, the number of hospitalized patients for clinical epidemiological surveillance had dropped to 89, while only 61 people were under primary healthcare surveillance at home.
