On the night of this Sunday there was a new earthquake perceptible in Cuba, the third in 2019, the island ‘s media reported.
According to the Network of Stations of the Cuban National Seismological Service, the quake took place at 8:34 pm and was located at 19.50 degrees Latitude North and -74.16 degrees Longitude West, 80 kilometers southeast of Imías, in the eastern province of Guantánamo.
It was recorded at a depth of 15.5 kilometers, and had a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale, which makes it the strongest of the three reported as perceptible this year.

So far there have been reports of perceptibility in the city of Santiago de Cuba, although there was no material or human damage, the Cubadebate website reported.
On August 1, a perceptible earthquake had been registered at Varadero beach resort, with a magnitude of 2.9, while last May another occurred south-southeast of the city of Santiago de Cuba, with a magnitude of 3.0.
Earthquakes are more frequent in the east than in the Cuban west, although they have been reported throughout the island.
