Cuba maintains control over COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) daily morning report. In fact, the figures reported today continue to account for that control, achieving a week without deaths from the pandemic, while the new infections totaled 13, seven more than the previous day.

They are Cubans, of whom 9 had some type of contact with confirmed cases, while in four individuals the source of infection was not specified. One of them was detected in the health personnel’s population study carried out with asymptomatic people, said Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of epidemiology.

Especial sobre la Covid-19

Of the 13 new infections, 9 were detected in men; and, by age group, the most affected were: under 40 (9; of them: two children, 8 and 12 years old) and between 40 and 60 (4).

Thirty-five medical discharges were reported, two patients were in critical condition and six were in serious condition.

At midnight yesterday, 817 people were hospitalized for clinical epidemiological care and another 2,289 were under primary healthcare surveillance in their homes.
