The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported 820 new cases of COVID-19 at the close of this Saturday, with which the number of infections in the current February is already more than 5,000 (5,239). Since the beginning of the pandemic, 32,831 patients have already been diagnosed.
In addition, on the day there were five deaths from the disease on the island, therefore the death toll rose to 22 in this second month of 2021 and to 238 since March of last year.
There were 700 discharges and with them the number of patients who have already recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 virus stands at 26,739, while 16,057 remained hospitalized, of them 3,454 suspects, 6,804 under surveillance and 5,799 confirmed. Of the latter, 5,732 had a stable clinical evolution and 67 were in intensive care: 37 in critical condition and 30 in serious condition, according to the MINSAP report.

As for the new cases, 809 are autochthonous and only 11 imported, while 795 are Cuban and 25 are foreigners. Of the autochthonous cases, 767 are contacts of confirmed cases and in 42 the source of infection had not been specified. 46.5% (381) of the 820 positive cases were asymptomatic.
By sex, women led this time, with 432 infections, while there were 388 men. Meanwhile, by age group, 126 children under 20 years were reported; 229 from 20 to 39 years old; 310 from 40 to 59 years old, and 155 over 60 years old.
Finally, by province, Havana continues registering the highest number of infections each day. This time there were 378, and it was followed by Santiago de Cuba with 141, Pinar del Río with 75, and Guantánamo with 50, although all Cuban territories reported new cases except the Isla de la Juventud.
