On 13 November, the director Juan Carlos Cremata will give details of his latest film Contigo, pan y cebolla during the press conference to be held in the Servando Cabrera Gallery in Vedado.
Cremata continues his love affair between theater and cinema. After the premiere of El premio flaco (2009) he returns with a new film adaptation, this time from the eponymous play by late Cuban playwright Hector Quintero.
The story revolves around the conflicts faced by the main character, Lala Fundora, matriarch of a poor family in Havana in the 50s, in order to buy a refrigerator at all costs.
For the version on the big screen the director came to recognized national actors among which stand out Alina Rodriguez in the lead with Edith Massola, Enrique Molina and Osvaldo Doimeadiós. In the small cast of the film are also Carlos Solar, Natalia Tápanes, Alicia Bustamante and singer Leoni Torres, who ventured for the first time on a movie.
The film, co-directed by Iraida Malberti, features music by Aldo Lopez Gavilan, photographic design of Yamil Santana, Guillermo Ramirez in the art direction and Elizabeth Prendergast as executive producer.
The press will enjoy the first screening on Thursday 13 at the Charlot Room of the Cinematheque of Cuba.
