In just four themes The Dead Daisies conquered the Havana musical chroniclers as good prelude to what the multinational band can achieve in two concerts in Cuba, scheduled for this week.

A longing for two endearing decades: the 1970s and 1980s, was seen in the group mini concert on Monday in Cuban Art Factory. It is as Marcos Mendoza said this morning to OnCuba “at our age, the best music is that which comes from those years. It’s the music that we grew all with. We are trying to represent that flag now of classic rock, to recreate that movement now in these times. ”

Determined to come to the island since September 2014 and complying with an invitation of the Cuban Institute of Music and the Network in Defense of Humanity-Cuba, the musicians expressed proud to be “one of the first to officially come from United States to Cuba. We’ve all talked about it and it’s a pleasure to be with you now, honestly.

“We try not to get into politics and connect with the culture itself, with people and share a few moments that also attract attention, to open the doors. All of us feel that way, “they said.

The band will have a collateral schedule on their first visit to Cuba. In addition to the concert on Wednesday in the theater Maxim Rock and Saturday at the Salon Rosado de La Tropical, artists will exchange with students and professional musicians while they deliver a lecture this February 25 at 3:00 pm, at the Maxim Rock.

“We are here with the desire to know all Cuban rhythms and musicians here because we know that this island is full of rhythms and things that we would like on this trip,” said the artists who pleaded to be fans of Afro-Cuban music.

The team comprised of Richard Fortus and Dizzy Reed (Guns and Roses), David Lowy (Mink), Brian Tichy (Ozzy Osbourne), Darryl Jones and Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones) and John Corabi (Motley Crue), also take the stay in Havana to approach the Cuban rock movement. Hence concert will feature two national bands: Anima Mundi (Wednesday) and David Blanco and his group (Saturday).

They didn’t rule out that both presentations leave future musical productions or a DVD. “We hope something comes out. We will be recording and hope to gather something new, different, “they said.

Interested in revealing to us much more of their musical concept, members of the group stressed that strengthened this mixture from the experience of everyone with their bands. “Every time we gather new language emerges. All they come from different places but have grown up with the same influences and to get together a phenomenon that is unique and particularly increasingly arises, ” they revealed.

Yesterday, I love Face, Angel in your eyes and Washington are some of the singles of The Dead Daisie, to be enjoyed on their performances in the coming days. Although estimate that each presentation will last between 75 and 95 minutes, bassist Mark Mendoza said that “there are going to be many surprises. Singers and musicians will be exchanged. Sincerely, it is going to be fun. We are very excited. ”

A deal is done: David Blanco invited two “Rolling Stone”, Darryl Jones and Bernard Fowler, to play Gimme Shelter and both accepted. We can only hope.
