¡Fabiana Cozza is in Havana singing Bola de Nieve! We open today with this Brazilian singer, with her voice, her melodies. We interview her about her concert in the Fine Arts Theater, about her immense art. That’s our proposal for this weekend, our start.
Though we have a lot more. In Visual Arts there’s a mix of Japan and Cuba in an expo. In Cinema, a Lester Hamlet documentary will be premiered. In Theater, Farandula, the play by Jazz Vila, which is moving Havana, will be on billboard until December. And of course, FAC proposals, so you get excited.

Fabiana sings Bola

Brazilian singer Fabiana Cozza will perform for the first time in Cuba. She’ll do it with her most recent album Ay, amor, tomorrow in the Fine Arts Museum Theater, at 7 pm.

Cuban piano marathon in Miami

Global Cuba Fest presents “Piano Marathon Cubano”, a Tony Perez and Yusa concert in the Miami Dade County Auditorium, tomorrow, at 8 pm. (2901 W Flagler St., Miami)

It will be an unforgettable marathon with music by the famous Cuban pianist Tony Perez. He will play a broad selection of genres and music styles together with Yusa’s soul passion, again in Miami after a numerous successful compromises in cities all around the world. Book your tickets here.

Contemporary Art Exhibition Japan-Cuba Going Away Closer will be inaugurated today, at 6 pm, in the Contemporary Art Center Wilfredo Lam (San Ignacio 22, corner to Empedrado, Cathedral Square, Old Havana). Participant artists are: Takahiro Iwasaki (JAP); Natsunosuke Mise (JAP); Tadasu Takmine (JAP); Futoshi Miyagi (JAP); Yuko Mohri (JAP); Kazutomo Tashiro (JAP); Atsuko Mochida (JAP); Glenda León (CUB); Reynier Leyva Novo (CUB); Leandro Feal (CUB); José Manuel Mesías (CUB).

Leandro Soto: crónicas visuales

The Fine Art National Museum invites to the show inauguration Leandro Soto: cronicas visuals, today, at 4 pm, in the Cuban Art Building. Expo will remain in the museum until May 14th.

A limbo behind the wall

Next Wednesday, March 14th, the documentary Limbo, directed by Lester Hamlet, will be presented in the Fine Arts Museum Theater, at 4 pm. This film gathers the memories of the intervention of the Havana’s Malecon, as parts of the project Detras del Muro, lead by curator Juanito Delgado during the last Havana Bienal.

¿Por qué lloran mis amigas?

The first fiction film directed by Magda Gonzalez Grau, will continue in the cinemas. Actresses Luisa Maria Jimenez, Yasmin Gomez, Edith Massola and Amarilys Nuñez lead this story about four friends who meet again after 20 years and start remembering their dreams and frustrations to shape and question their future.

Sunday, March 11th
9:00pm: Play: Vaginas. Inspired in The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler. Perform: Monste Duany, Yordanka Ariosa and Linnett Hernandez. Directed by the well-known actor Osvaldo Doimeadios. Vagina’s placers and aches, and another processes are some of the topics discussed by three women in a self- reflection tone. Nave 3.
10:00pm: Divergente in concert. They fusion genres like rock, blues, funk and pop. Nave 1.
11:00pm: Tony Avila in concert. Nace 4.
11:30pm: Session DJ Producer: Ivan Lejardi. Nave 1.

What a Farandula!

The play Farandula, by Jazz Vila is till on theaters after its recent popular world premier. It will be in Adolfo Llaurado Hall until December. So don’t rush but don’t get lazy. Check the schedule here:
