Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment Ana Teresita González announced this Thursday via Twitter the official suspension of the 2020 Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV 2020) due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
She said that the organizing committee of the event had decided to break the news this Thursday, even though other meetings aimed at promoting products and services could take place online.
“Taking into account the current epidemiological situation of #COVID19, the organizing committee of the Havana International Trade Fair reports that #FIHAV2020 is being suspended. Other events to promote trade and investment in #Cuba could take place online, which will be reported in due course,” she tweeted.
FIHAV 2020 would be held from October 1 to 5 at the Expocuba fairgrounds.
The fair constitutes an important event in terms of trade and investment in Cuba.
