The CADECA currency exchange houses this Wednesday released a note in which they report the suspension of the exchange of freely convertible currency service at their offices in international airports on the island.
The text of the note specifies: “As the population has been informed in a timely manner, since April 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a considerable reduction in the entry of international tourism and consequently a significant deficit of the freely convertible currency bought by CADECA through currency exchanges.”

“During this complex situation, CADECA, with the adoption of emergency measures, has continued to provide in the offices located in international airports, the freely convertible currency exchange service with an established limit.”
The measure took effect this May 20.
