Hotel Nacional

Hotel Nacional

The Gran Caribe hotel chain offers six hotels for holding events such as conferences, meetings, workshops, cocktail parties, banquets and weddings.

In the Cuban capital, these hotels are ideal: the Nacional, Habana Riviera, Victoria, Neptuno-Tritón complex and Plaza, and in Cienfuegos province in central Cuba, the Hotel Jagua.

Each has its own special charm, and provides specialized services with modern technology, and salons are prepared according to the customer’s requirements.

A few steps from the ocean, in Vedado, Havana’s most centrally-located district, stands the Hotel Nacional de Cuba. This sumptuous building is frequented by major international celebrities.

It has eight elegant and multifunctional salons for meetings, conferences, banquets, receptions, weddings and private dinners. These include Sala 1930, the largest, with a capacity for 500 people; the Salón Vedado, formerly the hotel’s casino, with 285 square meters and a capacity for 200. The Sala Taganana holds up to 150; and the Salones de la República are prepared for more intimate settings for 10 to 50 people. In addition, the hotel has multiuse rooms where important works of heritage are on display: the Salón Baracoa, Salón Sancti Spíritus, Salón Puerto Príncipe and Salón Trinidad, with exhibitions of original pieces that belong to the hotel, such as a napkin embroidered with the Cuban coat of arms used by Winston Churchill.

Travelers who have come for an event will find that the Hotel Nacional not only offers appropriate service, but also luxury restaurants with a choice of diverse cuisine, cafeterias, bars, tennis courts, swimming pools, a gym, a beauty salon, exclusive shops, and the Cabaret Parisién, where the nights are filled with the rhythm and color of Cuban music.

The Cuban capital’s most cosmopolitant district also features the Habana Riviera, right on the seaside boulevard, the Malecón, featuring 352 ocean-view rooms, built in the 1950s, and a very welcoming atmosphere.

On the hotel’s 20th floor, with an exceptionally panoramic view of the Havana coastline, is the Salón Duribe, a special space for work meetings with a capacity for 30, who can access, on the same floor, the hotel’s Business Center for Internet and executive secretary services.

On the lobby level, the hotel’s Salón Internacional hosts banquets, parties and product presentations for up to 150 people, including bathrooms/dressing rooms, bar and a reserved room.

Also on the lobby level: the Salón Gelabert, with a capacity for up to 140 when used as a theater, adjacent to the Restaurant Buffet Primavera, which can be requested by event organizers for pre-ordered menus.

In addition, the L’Aiglon luxury restaurant organizes dinners and lunches featuring international and French cuisine and a wine list.

And for the perfect finish to a special event, the Cabaret Copa Room offers the possibilities of enjoying a closing dinner and its trademark variety show.

Also in Vedado, the Hotel Victoria is designed for small-format events, weddings and receptions, with an intimate, pleasant style. Known as the hotel of the 21st century poets, it has 31 rooms and a cybercafé with Wi-Fi Internet, executive fax/email/photocopying services, and computer rental.

It has two salons: the Restaurante Victoria, with international cuisine, for up to 62 people, with an open salon and three reserved rooms, excellent for business lunches, cocktail parties, and weddings; and a multiuse room with food and beverage services upon request, including coffee, buffet, lunch and dinner.

In the western part of the city, in the luxurious neighborhood of Miramar, is the Neptuno-Tritón complex, with three salons that have hosted important events, such as the Latin American Congress on Roman Law, the Capablanca Memorial chess tournament, and the Ninth Conference on European Studies.

This hotel complex is just a few steps away from the Miramar Trade Center, and has three restaurants—one of which is vegetarian, a large swimming pool, an ice cream shop, and a lobby bar.

On the threshold of the city’s historic district, Habana Vieja, the elegant Hotel Plaza offers several choices: the Real Plaza restaurant, the Fausto and Los Portales banquet halls, and the Terraza Bar Solarium for receptions and banquets, with a capacity of 60 to 150 people, as well as the Salón Bacardí for meetings of up to 250 people.

In the central Cuban province of Cienfuegos, the Hotel Jagua is nestled on a small peninsula in the beautiful Bay of Jagua, and from its 149 rooms, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of the water, nearby cays, and Escambray mountains.

Two multiuse salons, the Guanaroca and the Hamao, are available for hosting all types of gatherings, which in the past have included nautical events, meetings of the jury for the Casa de las Americas literary prize, and others.

The cities of Havana and Cienfuegos feature many attractions for organizing the most diverse programs and, at the same time, for enjoing many leisure activities. They are magnificent choices for planning a meeting, conference, workshop, or congress, and for special moments such as reunions, weddings, and other festivivites. Gran Caribe is here for you, with specialized personnel for custom staffing at your events.
