Cuba is the guest at the 15th International Exhibition of Gastronomy and Tourism, underway at the Expourense Fairgrounds, Galicia from February 5 through the 9.

In his public statement, the vice president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda has referred to the long history of Xantar, which this year received for the first time an international fair character, of a sector, the food, that plays in Galicia one fundamental role and has enormous potential.

He further highlighted the presence of Cuba as a guest country, which contributes, he said, to promote the relationship among the Galician Diaspora.

Cuba’s participation will give much cause for satisfaction as a result of the visit of President of the Xunta, Alberto Nunez Feijoo a few months ago to that country, he said.

During the next few days, the exhibition will bring together 179 exhibitors, namely 18 restaurants -12 of them Galician- with 32 menus based on local products of each region.

The Xantar program includes activities from conferences to live cooking exhibits, tastings through Carnival gastronomy workshops and vacuum cooking. In total, they will have more than 120 activities to professionals and amateurs.
