In this Wednesday’s nightly edition of the National Television Newscast (NTV), a note from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) informed the population of the eleventh coronavirus positive case in Cuba.
It is a 57-year-old Canadian citizen who had entered the country on March 14 through Holguín’s international airport.
The tourist went to the doctor at the Paradisus Río de Oro Hotel, where he was staying, with symptoms of the disease. Once declared a suspect, he was transferred to an isolation center. The technical tests on the Canadian citizen at the Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Provincial Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology of Santiago de Cuba came out positive for the new coronavirus.
