The Cuban soccer team defeated Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 1-0 this Tuesday in their last match for group C in the North, Central American and Caribbean Confederation (CONCACAF) qualifying rounds for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
At the Kirani James Stadium, in Grenada, the disciples of Pinar del Río mentor Pablo Elier Sánchez dominated the game against an opponent who gave them plenty of space to attack.
The Cubans made 14 shots on goal, of which six were between the three sticks. But they only scored one from Pinar del Rio offensive player Maykel Reyes, in the 64th minute, after he entered the field to replace William Pozo, who plays for the Strommen Club in the Norwegian league.

With this result, the Cuban team says goodbye to the World Cup qualifying rounds with a balance of two victories and two defeats. In the previous game, they beat the British Virgin Islands 5-0; but before they had fallen against Guatemala (0-1) and Curacao (1-2).
Now it will participate in the preliminary phase of the Gold Cup, in the United States, as of July 3, when it will face French Guiana in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
If it wins that day, on the 6th it will have to face Trinidad and Tobago, a match that would define one of the three tickets in dispute for the group stage.
