Cuba won two gold and one silver medals this Tuesday at the start of the Weightlifting Cali Open, in Colombia, the last qualifier for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Arley Calderón won gold medals in clean and jerk and biathlon, and silver in snatch, in the 61 kilogram (kg) bodyweight division.

In snatch the Cuban lifted 111 and 115 kg, but then he failed with 120 kg. Calderón dominated the clean and jerk with 149 kg, after valid movements with 141 and 147 kg.

Calderón won the division, with a total of 264 kg, on the first day of a competition that will feature Cubans Marina Rodríguez (64 kg), Melisa Aguilera (76 kg) and Olfides Sáez (89 kg) this ​​Thursday.

On Friday Juan Columbié (109 kg) will perform in a silver category contest, the last one that will award points for the Olympic classification.
