Liuba María Hevia will give a concert on Saturday at the Karl Marx Theater in Havana, where she will celebrate 30 years of artistic life from a journey along the paths of her different lives in search of that music that completes her as an artist and person.

So many lives is the name of the show, through which Liuba, will visit important places of her troubadour career in the hands of several guests who have been very relevant to her life and work.

Again the artistic direction of the concert will be by the actor Osvaldo Doimeadiós , and will combine, as usual, music, dance and audiovisual materials.

We will have a sui generis concert, the singer told the press, as I made in my early days, this time we have a better dramaturgic work, with dance as thread

On the Karl Marx she will be accompanied by Tania Vergara and dance group Endedans, Pepe Hevia, with his company Pepe Hevia Dance, the group FRAXIS and musicians graduates of the National School of Art and the University of the Arts.

The show for the three decades of musical career of Luiba María Hevia, will be recorded by the Colibri Productions label to close the yea’s presentations, which will be included in a DVD.

It’s kind of yearbook, Liuba said, because it offers a more comprehensive view than the work one does for a single concert. “I find it interesting that it is a kind of directory where multiple windows, as stories about different events, appear.”

So many lives, which is also a title of one of her compositions, will be devoted to several indispensable people that have influenced her music during these 30 years.

For me, she said, the most important of the presentation is the possibility that it offers me to recognize many people that have accompanied my career.

“I want to thank my teachers, all persons, institutions and friends, who have had to do with my music, to Ada Elba Perez, who changed my life, Nueva trova, Silvio, Pablo, and that irreplaceable which is Teresita Fernández “

In an exclusive to OnCuba, Liuba announced that her new album, entitled The Map of my songs is currently being mixed and she expects this process to be over soon and it will be ready to release.

“The map… will be a double album and will tour throughout my career. In it there are already known songs, some that were luckier than others and several unpublished “.

“The CD is a gift of secrets and codes to get to know a little more of oneself; coordinates, keys will be taken to find a little more of that part of the soul where we keep the dearest.”

“The main instrument in it is the guitar; I have invited about 10 instrumentalists in addition to what I do with the voice. Recording enrich their ways of playing the lute, the tres and guitar, so that each song has a common root, the birth of a stringed instrument. “

“This album is a sort of tribute to the ICAIC Sound Experimentation Group, to Leo Brouwer, to the great guitarists of this country, and all the musicians that were inserted in the troubadour song in the vanguard of the 70s that changed the concept of the Cuban trova.”

“In it I have the cooperation of tres player Pancho Amat with the lutenist Barbarito Torres, Jorge Chicoy, the Guitar Quartet and Havana, among other friends.”
