Embassy Rebirth/Tercer Paraiso Cuba and Arte Continua are calling so this is how we start. Once again, several projects get together in a Rayo Active Zone to invite you to stop by Chinatown in Havana. That way you can witness this third encounter take place in some kind of dumpster in Rayo street. Can’t miss this Rayo-activity.

Also in Visual Arts it will be launched a new Catalogue of painting and performances by Collage Ediciones. In Music, the recommendation is the 90th Silvio Rodriguez concert in the neighborhood, as well as the free presentation of Joan Manuel Serrat in concert in Buenos Aires. In Dance, two proposals: one of them comes with the company Dance and Music from the Middle East Cuban Soho, and the other one comes with the Cuban National Ballet in Havana and Unite States.

In Cinema, MuestraPlus Film invites to a selection of Czech animation, and El Ciervo Encantado will screen in its headquarter the documentary “Severo secreto”. There is also Literature and of course the Art Factory program for the weekend.

Here we are, energetic and Rayo-actives. So put on your batteries and choose. See you around!

 

Bring your people

Tomorrow, at 4 pm, it will get together again Re-Contruccion, LaMarka BodyArt, Clandestina, AlPirata, El+Buscado, Ciclo-EcoPapel, Akokan, ISDI, Fundacion Antonio Nuñez Jimenez, Centro Loyola, PAC, Tungasuk, Supervivo, Granjita Feliz, Barrio Habana, BambuCentro, D-Estructura, Hombre-Goma and another projects, entrepreneurs and institutions, to the call for the third encounter organized by Embajada Rebirth/Tercer Paraiso Cuba and Arte Continua.

It will take place in Rayo street in Chinatown, Havana. This is a platform to have fun, connect and transform. There will be music, bodypainting, games, expos, living-statues, serigraphy and more.

Cineclub Cuir: languages on

Same day, tomorrow, but at 3 pm, Arte Continua will be pleased to host in its location the first session of Cineclub Cuir, an itinerant project of audiovisual exhibition curated by Cuban filmmaker Damian Sainz.

Painting and performance: Manuel Lopez Oliva

Next Wednesday 28th, at 4 pm, in the Fine Arts Museum, the Museum director, Jorge Fernandez, will present to the public the new Catalogue of artist Manuel Lopez Oliva’s paintings and performances, produce by Collage Ediciones of the Fondo Cubanos de Bienes Culturales.

Presentation of the artist Adislen Reyes catalogue, next Tuesday 27th, at 4 pm, in Galeria Villa Manuela.

The number 90 concert offer by Silvio Rodriguez will be today, at 6 pm, in Barbosa (Ave. 23 bw 308 and 310, Playa). A usual the musicians with Silvio will be Niurka Gonzalez (flute and clarinet), Jorge Reyes (contra-bass), Oliver Valdes (drums and percussion) and Trovarroco. The special guest for this occasion will be Roblejo’s Trio.

Serrat for free in Buenos Aires

Joan Manuel Serrat will offer a free concert together with Elena Roger tomorrow, at 7:30 pm, in Plaza Vaticano, Buenos Aires (Cerrito and Viamonte, next to Teatro Colon).

The Catalan singer-songwriter will perform as part of the program of Festival Unicos: versiones sinfonicas de grandes artistas gratis y al aire libre, organized by the City Government. The authorities recommend to get there early due to the expected numerous attendance. The show will be also screened in giants displays installed in the square. Here you have a map just in case you’re in the south.

Sounds from France and Haiti in Cuba

Casa Victor Hugo in Old Havana will host today, at 7 pm, a concert with French and Haitian music. The promotion of the French musical legacy in Cuba will be in charge of Claire Le Fur (harpist of duo Metiskacao), Kecita Madaleno (singer), great Haitian guitarist Amos Coulanges (voices and acoustic guitar) and Raymond Gratian who defends the sounds of the classic guitar.

Cimafunk in Pabellon

Today, at 6 pm, Cimafunk invites to a hot afternoon in Pabellon Cuba (23rd Ave. and O St., Vedado).

Cuerpos de agua in La Marca

Concert and presentation of the album “Cuerpos de agua”, by joung singer- songwriter Frank Mitchel Chirino Hernandez, today, at 8:30 pm, in La Marca (Obrapia bw Oficios and Mercaderes, Old Havana). The CD was recorded past December in La Marca record studio, and his author became the first awarded with the scholarship AMuletaMusica, for the production, management and positioning of the most recent Cuban music. Jorgito Kamankola will be the guest artist.

Boris in Miami

Boris Larramendi and his band in concert today, at 10 pm, in Real Cafe, Miami.

Mozart’s route

For the first time in Cuba will be heard live all the Mozart’s quartets in one day. Tomorrow, from 9 am to 9 pm, 24 quartets from Cuba and abroad will interpret the Integral of string quartets by Mozart.

Four sensations

Presentation of the company Dance and Music from the Middle East Cuban Soho this weekend in the Covarrubias Hall of the Cuban National Theater (Friday and Saturday, 8:30 pm. Sunday, 5 pm). Artistic direction by Luis Roblejo (First dancer, Maitre and choreographer in Danza Contemporanea de Cuba) and Gretel S. Llabre (General Director, First Dancer and teacher in company Dance and Music from the Middle East Cuban Soho).

The Cuban National Ballet, with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Great Theater of Havana, presents Giselle. This weekend and the next one in usual hours.

Special in El Ciervo Encantado

Screening of the documentary “Severo secreto”, directed by Oneyda Gonzalez ad Gustavo Perez, with footages of the plays “De donde son los cantantes”, “Pajaros en la playa”, “Visiones de la cubanosofia” and “Departures”. This will be next Sunday, at 7 pm, in El Ciervo Encantado (18 St. bw Linea and 11, Vedado). Free entrance.
