Cuba reached eight days without deaths from COVID-19 and the detected infections dropped to 18, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported today.
They are Cuban and this time all the cases were reported in the capital.
According to Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of epidemiology, they were related to the transmission event that occurred at the AICA Laboratories.

Of these cases, 17 were related to confirmed cases; there were more infected women than men (12-6) and, by age group, the most affected were detected in those under 40, between 40 and 60, as well as in those over 60, with six cases each; 94.4% were asymptomatic.
In Cuba, 556 people are still hospitalized due to the new coronavirus and 1,180 are under primary healthcare surveillance.

Of the 118,488 tests made to date, 2,191 have been positive; 85.07% of these patients overcame the disease.
The death toll from the SARS-CoV-2 virus on the island is still 83.
