This Tuesday September 27 Financiera Cimex S.A. (FINCIMEX) denied the report about the launching next October 1 of the Club Malecon prepaid card for the use of U.S. citizens traveling to Cuba, reported by the EFE news agency last Thursday, and where it alluded to statements by the president of the U.S. International Port Corp. (IPC).
This was announced by the Cubadebate website in a note where it explains that the statement “is not in keeping with the state of execution of an agreement reached between Fincimex and IPC and contains important inaccuracies about it. The mentioned card would not be issues by a U.S. entity and neither has the possible date when it will start been defined. Once the negotiations have concluded, the characteristics of this service will be made known opportunely”.
