The U.S. airline American Airlines resumed daily flights between Miami and Havana on Thursday, December 2, as confirmed by the Cuban Company of Airports and Aeronautical Services (Ecasa). The state company also reported from its Telegram channel that the airline will operate a daily flight to the island during December.

So far, some travelers have stated that the main problem is the high prices of tickets and the low availability in contrast to the high demand. Reports from the specialized tourism website, Reportur, estimate that the cost of a ticket could exceed US$1,000 due to the demand for the end of the year. The airline has also set new baggage fees.

American Airlines will operate these flights with the 737 Dreamliner aircraft, with capacity for 234 passengers. Travelers will have to present a complete vaccination schedule to enter Cuba, except for children under 12 years of age.
