A gentleman, tuxedo and bow tie. That’s how Cohiba White would look like if it were a person. This new product by the Cuban Tobacco International SA (ICT) presents all elegant, with the credentials of being “created to please the taste of those initiated in the art of cigars”.
It is therefore a gateway for those who move from cigarettes to cigars. So it has a softer taste, “The softest of all” as its slogan, familiar with the preference of smokers worldwide.
The White debuted on the island a few days ago, during the International Trade Fair of Havana. Last September it was its first release, in the Dortmund Fair, Germany, one of the most special events in the world on cigars.
“It is a pure product, with no additives or chemical constituent, the flavor is 100 percent natural. It has been very well received and made a great impact,” Clara Lemus, Marketing Manager of ICT, said.
Probably nothing is more symbolic of softness than the color white. And as Cohiba is a brand of elite, combines it with black and gray now, for a change of image, while retaining traditional elements, approaches a more contemporary minimalist concept.
So far White appears in formats Mini and Club, 10 and 20 units. ITC’s business strategy for his latest creation includes a program of regular releases in different markets.
For now, FIHAV 2013 has been a step with the right foot. “For us, the show is very important, this is where we have, for example, all the dealers, and the product is presented and tasted. This is one of the most outstanding fairs, due to its participation and reaching resonance. It is the space where we show the novelty, every year we bring something different, ” Lemus said
The Cohiba brand was born in 1966 and only long circulated as complimentary gift to diplomats and statesmen. Its name comes from the Taino word for cigar made out of tobacco leaves made by these natives.
Cuban Cigars International Inc. produces and markets large-scale mechanized cigars. It is represented in more than 120 countries and brings together brands like Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta, Guantamera, Belinda and Troya.
