Havana tops the Top Ten destinations on the rise in the world, according to TripAdvisor

The digital portal Caribbean News Digital, said this morning that the Cuban capital topped a list of 54 sites across the globe at the 2013 Travelers ‘ Choice Awards for Destinations on the Rise.

For Latin America and the Caribbean in the Global Top Ten destinations are Costa Rica, Peru, Belize and Brazil. Also there are places in Asia, Europe, South America , South Pacific and USA.

The popular tourist guide reference is made taking into account those places that have had a major growth traveller feedback on TripAdvisor website in the past year compared to the last ones.

” For those looking for inspiration in the face of their travels in 2014 , users of TripAdvisor have helped us to draw attention to some amazing destinations that captured the interest of international tourism in the last year ,” Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor told Caribbean News.

Similarly Messing noted that, despite the existing restrictions on U.S. travel to Cuba, recently allowed modalities through arrangements for travel under licenses from the Treasury Department have opened limited opportunities, previously unavailable.

“Many travelers of the world are aware, and as reflected in the opinions of millions of users of TripAdvisor, Havana is an outstanding destination whose attraction grows increasingly” she said.

Days ago, a Cuban resort, the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria, ranked second in the Top World Ten Best All Inclusive in the World and first in the Caribbean, also one of the awards of the Travelers’ Choice 2013 TripAdvisor.

    Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids.
    I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the
    shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it
    pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally
    off topic but I had to tell someone!
