The webpage of the German Office for the Promotion of Trade and Investment in Cuba, created by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy between 2017 and 2018, highlights that the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector in Cuba has a worldwide reputation for its high standards of innovation and quality, the source stated.

As a result of the creation of this structure, and given its participation in the 36th Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV), the head of the Office, Gunther Neubert, highlighted the potential of the areas of medicine, biotechnology and tourism, and said that some German companies, such as Daimler, have been trading with Cuba for 20 years and have a broad structure on the island, according to Cubaeconómica.

Gunther Neubert is also the president of the German Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Latin America and the Caribbean (ZAKK).

BioCubaFarma subsidiaries participate in joint ventures with foreign partners in China, Singapore, Thailand, Great Britain, Spain and also in Cuba, in the Mariel Special Development Zone, the digital portal of the German Office added.

The biotechnology and biopharmaceutical cooperation forum between Cuba and Germany, according to the source, will be an opportunity to provide first-hand information on the main products contained in the Business Opportunities Portfolio, aimed at identifying new projects and joint cooperation in the future.
