The meeting was announced at the Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (ProCuba), where it was notified that the Cuban Chamber of Commerce and the German Office for the Promotion of Trade and Investment in Cuba organized the event.

The webpage of the German Office for the Promotion of Trade and Investment in Cuba, created by the Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy between 2017 and 2018, highlights that the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector in Cuba has a worldwide reputation for its high standards of innovation and quality, the source stated.

As a result of the creation of this structure, and given its participation in the 36th Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV), the head of the Office, Gunther Neubert, highlighted the potential of the areas of medicine, biotechnology and tourism, and said that some German companies, such as Daimler, have been trading with Cuba for 20 years and have a broad structure on the island, according to Cubaeconómica.
