Cuba: artistic education classes broadcast on TV for students living in places affected by pandemic

This new cycle of television teaching activities was created by CNEArt and the National Art Schools in collaboration with the Faculty of Audiovisual Media of the University of the Arts (ISA) and the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT).

Cuban Television is broadcasting classes for Artistic Education students who could not start the 2019-2020 academic year in their classrooms because they live in places affected by the pandemic.

“We continue committed to the preparation of our teachers and students to keep them active even in times of COVID, Artistic Teaching does not stop,” said a post from the National Center for Art Schools (CNEArt).

These teleclasses can be seen by all students in the country, although they are essentially for students in Havana and some municipalities in other provinces suffering the incidence of the new coronavirus to a greater extent.

This new cycle of television teaching activities was created by CNEArt and the National Art Schools in collaboration with the Faculty of Audiovisual Media of the University of the Arts (ISA) and the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT).

The classes are new with respect to the previous ones and their objective is to systematize the contents of the various artistic specialties. They are broadcast from Monday to Saturday on the Telerebelde channel, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Theoretical and practical subjects will be taught, among them Reflection and vision of creativity in dance; Ballet; Exercise routine for body maintenance; History of the Theater; Sol-fa; Musical Initiation, Appreciation and Education; Basic Design; Props and puppet construction; History of the Theater of Figures; and History of Music.
