Cuba confirmed today 28 new cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the last 24 hours, a day in which 7,785 tests were processed and 35 people were discharged.

The 26 autochthonous and the two imported cases of the day were detected in Pinar del Río (13 in three municipalities, including the case with a source of infection abroad, who resides in the provincial capital), Matanzas (one imported case in Cárdenas), Ciego de Ávila (12 cases in the provincial capital) and Santiago de Cuba (two cases in the main municipality).

Of the total, 26 were contacts of confirmed cases and 26 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis.

There were also no deaths on the day, which is why the death toll from the SARS-CoV-2 virus on the Island remains at 131.

Until midnight yesterday, 2,286 people remained hospitalized and only two remained in intensive care, both reported in serious condition.
